Why do ordinary people become disabled and suicidal?

Watching the people who were normal, but for whatever reason have become disabled, I involuntarily began to analyze why people mutilate themselves and become suicidal. First of all, I want to say that this chapter was not written for people who have suffered from accidents or became disabled after an accident, but overcame the consequences and became physically full-fledged human beings. This chapter is for those who are consuming or consumed alcohol or are using or used drugs, and therefore have become disabled and want to commit suicide. This is a great and senseless stupidity. Let’s analyze this problem.

Why do people drink alcohol and use drugs? Some are doing it just because they feel good today and do not think about the future. They enjoy the transitory pleasures, but do not care about tomorrow. But the pleasures are ending today. And tomorrow these people will reap what they have sown today. For example, they will never recover their health and youth, and later they will face the ruined health, the loss of their identity and their loved ones. Just imagine how much they must not love and appreciate themselves as to reach this degree of self-destruction. We do not know how to love and appreciate people close to us, if we destroy ourselves. If we destroy ourselves, we ruin someone’s life, too.

Others are doing consuming drugs and alcohol just for fun. It might look interesting today, but no one thinks of such concept as a dependency. Every addiction starts with interest. I have other definitions, as nothing to do or because it seems cool. If you have nothing to do, then this is a signal of low self-esteem. When a man’s has normal self-esteem, the idea of self-harm will never occur. He will go about his business, and will not seek adventures to his bright head. He will think how to make his world more beautiful.

Others use drugs and alcohol because they think they have no choice. This category includes not only full-fledged members of our society, but also people with disabilities. Why do they think that there is no way out? Because they have not found their identity so far. However, there is a small detail. Life goes on, and maybe tomorrow there will be their hour of triumph, maybe the day after tomorrow, maybe in a month, but there will be. If the hour comes tomorrow, we have something to do today. We can read a book or take up sports to be liked by other people and by ourselves.

Set a goal and follow it. If a person has goals and ideas, he will never get tired of pursuing the goal. Many a smart ones are lying in a cemetery because of their absurdity. When you feel bad, go to a cemetery and look at the graves of those who died because of their addictions. Then, go to a temple and thank the Lord for being alive and healthy. Then, ask yourself a question how something that you want to get might become boring. NO.
