Pity and compassion as different concepts in our lives

I want to address such a slightly unpleasant topic as pity. People prefer not to talk on this subject. People think that pity or compassion is a part of love, or if someone feels pity, then he feels love. I have to communicate with many people with disabilities, and I watch such a problem as pity. Many people do not understand why they are alone or unhappy with their lives or their marriages, get depressed with all the consequences that depression entails, or suffer even more. Generally, many myths about love, knowledge and even about human development are based on the concept of pity. These myths have destroyed the fates of many generations, and knowledge of the fake moral laws help people manipulate other people which do not allow a man to move towards his goal. We do not understand that any pity is bad because it drives to death, both physical and spiritual. Why so? What distinguishes sympathy from pity? What a man feels when he is treated with pity? These questions I want to talk about in this article.

Compassion occurs when we help people find the way out, to overcome a difficulty or to gain confidence in themselves. For example, we saw a child who got lost on the street and was crying. We approach him, comfort him, and then help him find the parents through the police or take him home. Thus, we have shown sympathy. We have helped a child find his parents and get out of this terrible history as a winner. Sympathy or empathy is a condition in which feelings and emotions of one person causes similar feelings in another person. It looks like they share the feeling. Pity is humiliating and diminishes the ratio of one person to another person. For example, we see a man with disabilities who simply walks where he is supposed to. The first reaction, we have is, “What a poor dear!!!.” That’s only an emotion and nothing else. The emotion does nothing in life and holds nothing by itself. This emotion gives the impulse to look at any person with physical challenges in humiliating way. Any pity especially the pity towards self drives to inactivity, to depression and even to death. When a person begins to pity someone, he unwillingly assumes the role of someone else’s life. Thus, a person pushes another person from the process of life. When a man does not livethe life process and ceases to fight, he breaks down and dies. He loses interest in life.

To love a person is to treat the person as equal. If a person has physical limitations, you must not pay attention to his physical problem. Do not think that this is your cross which you must bear all your life, but find the way and make sure that he is doing things he loves and becomes a complete human being. That would be the love and compassion.
