My name is Viktoriya Gorelik. I have never drawn. Because of my cerebral palsy, I have never had any skills for drawing. Yes, I have always wanted, but all my attempts were wasted.
Once I met a drawing teacher accidentally in church. She invited me to her class in which she showed new drawing skills. The classes took place in JASA. I started attending and trying different skills, and gradually I mastered drawing.
I went there for ten years, but last year I was prohibited because I am young and don’t have Medicare. But for me, drawing is an escape and a charge. Because of drawing, my motor skills and speech developed. I left there two pictures: one was finished, but the other was not. Yes, I would like to continue attending at least in order to finish the last one Four Seasons.
Now I am learning to draw on an iPad at home. Yes, it is very difficult to draw on an iPad because my hands, arms, back, and shoulders hurt after drawing, but it is awfully interesting. It is surely less difficult to draw on paper and under the teacher’s supervision than on an iPad and by myself. I hope that I will be allowed to attend in the nearest future, but for now… iPad only.
